Support

Kells has been a leader in student support since its founding; a vastly superior level of support is a hallmark of the Kells experience. Our team of expert teachers, in close collaboration with our Learning Resource Specialist and Guidance Counselor, implement research-based practices to provide targeted interventions or a higher level of challenge, depending on each student’s unique needs.

Across all three campuses, our teams collaborate to ensure smooth transitions from elementary to high school, high school to Grade 12, and Grade 12 to postsecondary, ensuring a gradual release of responsibility as students gain the necessary skills to take full control of their learning.

Our complete support services include:

  • Resource specialist on-site to provide in-class or pull-out support when necessary; always following the course curriculum.
  • Providing students with an Individual Education Plan (I.E.P) when necessary.
  • On site tutorial services during and after school hours.
  • Resource time for students who need extra assistance.
  • Close collaboration with outside professional services as needed.
  • A Special Education consultant available for parents and students.
  • Providing extended time, separate setting, and support with assistive technology (WordQ/Antidote) for examinations where psychological assessment indicates the need.
  • The use of technology including iPads and laptops from Secondary I-V, Smartboards, and assistive technology.
  • School assignments found on the online Portal and/or Google Classroom.

  • Additional ESL and Math help after school.
  • Elementary-to-High School and High School-to-College transition teams.
