Opening Doors to a Kells Academy Education

Since 1978, Kells Academy has provided a quality education to thousands of students, each with their own unique background, story, and strengths. We believe that every student deserves an education that sets them up for success in the future. That is why Kells is proud to offer financial assistance in the form of bursaries. These monetary awards offset the cost of tuition for students with a demonstrated need. Due to the limited amount of assistance resources, bursaries are issued on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility

Financial aid is available for grades K-11.
The deadline to apply for the 2025-2026 school year is May 1st 2025.
Due to limited resources, students must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents in order to qualify for financial aid. We hope to broaden our eligibility criteria in the future as the Kells Financial Aid program grows.
During the bursary application process, families wishing to be considered must demonstrate financial need using supporting documentation. A list of supporting documentation can be found here.

Application Process

  • In order to be eligible for a bursary for the 2025/26 school year, the application must be completed by May 1st 2025.

  • The online application, including a non-refundable application fee of $130.00, is submitted directly through the Apple Financial Services website.
  • Kells Academy conducts a thorough analysis of the supporting documentation submitted by the applicant.

Please note that the application process is completely confidential. The Financial Aid Committee assesses all submissions. Any monetary assistance provided by the school is considered to be a bursary that goes towards the Kells tuition fees; it does not need to be repaid.

We are proud to announce that Kells Academy is launching a Sport-Études program in Fall 2025. The Sport-Études program for grade 7 and 8 students is designed for elite athletes who wish to receive a top-tier education while training and competing in high-level sports.

The Sport-Études program is unique in North America. It is endorsed by the Ministry of Education in partnership with provincial sports federations. Through a personalized approach, student athletes are supported in their academic and athletic development. At Kells, we are committed to an individualized approach to teaching and learning; this new program offering is yet another way that Kells empowers students to find out what success means to them.

Nathan is both Canadian and American, and wants to go to college in the US on a sports scholarship. Therefore, he wants to study in English, and ideally closer to home. At Kells, we know that learning can happen anywhere, anytime. We create opportunities for genuine self-discovery and confidence-building beyond the classroom, all in a supportive environment where students feel comfortable trying new things. There are so many ways to get involved and make an impact at Kells, either through joining a club or interest group, participating in Student Council, joining a sports team, or engaging in community service. Student voice is at the heart of everything we do, which is why students are also encouraged and supported in starting initiatives of their own.

Our full-time Athletics and Student Life Coordinator facilitates year-round programming that is engaging, inclusive, and aligned with our school's values of community, respect, and responsibility. Throughout the year, we organize exciting day trips, overnight excursions, and a diverse range of extracurricular activities to enrich the school experience. Wellness is woven into our programming, empowering students to find balance and build healthy habits that will endure long after they graduate.
