  • Art Teacher

    Kells students come from all corners both of Montreal and of the world. They represent a variety of cultures and cultural perspectives. Therefore, at Kells, we strive to create and maintain a sense of community that helps students feel included. Our students are given opportunities to express themselves, which allows them to grow in confidence and independence.

    Responsibilities:
    • Teach several high school visual art grade levels in accordance with and enhancing provincial standards
    • Understand and apply the curriculum objectives, protocols and culture of Kells Academy
    • Complete cafeteria, arrival, dismissal, locker room and other supervisions as assigned
    • Attend and contribute to team and faculty meetings
    • Attend required school events beyond the school day, such as Open House and parent-teacher interviews
    • Take advantage of professional development opportunities
    • Communicate regularly with administration, parents and students regarding student progress
    • Complete other duties as assigned by the school principal

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in fine arts or education; masters preferred
    • Strong teaching background, including training and experience, in visual art
    • Successful experience working with a diverse student population
    • Bilingualism in English and French an asset
    • Quebec teaching license

    Status and Accountability
    The visual art teacher will work part-time and report to the principal.

    Fluency in French will be an asset as well as experience in the field of special education.

    Kells Academy is seeking secondary Math, Science, English, French, and ESL teachers for the month of July with a passion for supporting young adolescents. We are searching for candidates with knowledge of how to develop a differentiated practice in the classroom.

    Teaching Responsibilities:
    • Prepare, coordinate and instruct lessons and evaluations in line with MEQ
    • Incorporate technology in the classroom
    • Communicate regularly with administration, parents and students regarding student progress
    Qualifications
    • Undergraduate degree in education or a relevant field of study
    • Quebec Teaching Permit
    • Certification and/or experience in ESL, an asset
    • Be up to date on the most recent advances in technology in the classroom
