Janice Ewanyshyn, Middle School Coordinator
Now celebrating 32 years as an educator, Janice Ewanyshyn entered the teaching profession as a Choral and General Music Specialist after completing a Bachelor of Music and Diploma in Education at McGill University. Following 2 years at a local public school, Mrs. Ewanyshyn, was hired as Head of Music at Miss Edgar’s and Miss Cramp’s School. She remained happily in this position, raising her two children who are now in their twenties, participating in competitions, concerts and charity events until 2008 when she accepted the position of Middle School Director. In this capacity, she developed an advisory program, expanded student life and leadership opportunities and implemented a global education curriculum. In 2016, Mrs. Ewanyshyn pursued her growing interest in the benefits of global education and accepted the position of International Baccalaureate Coordinator at JPPS-Bialik. For two years, she led the elementary school through the IB accreditation process, provided training and resources for all teachers and carried out the duties of an administrator, at both the elementary and high school levels.
Mrs. Ewanyshyn is excited for the opportunity to return to Middle School at Kells! The Middle School years are a time of dramatic growth for young adolescents – physically, socially and intellectually. She is passionate and committed to leading a team of teachers that will help your children navigate and transition through this exciting but sometimes challenging time. Mrs. Ewanyshyn believes in the power of experiential learning and finding leadership opportunities for students that will help them become confident, capable and caring young adults.
